Wow......An article from the current edition of the EatDrink magazine. Thank you Bryan Lavery ~ Chef, Contributing Editor. For thirty years and counting, Michael’s on-the-Thames has been regarded as London’s ‘celebration destination’ and for good reason. Owner-operator Brian Stewart, General Manager Joelle Lees, Executive Chef Denis Clavette and their polished staff gives its patrons what they want, consistently, and that is why the restaurant is “perennially popular. There is no attempt to be trendy or cutting edge at Michaels. The restaurant has recently been refurbished to create a renewed sense of comfort and well-being. Classic tableside cooking is part of the innate charm of Michaels-on-the-Thames. Caesar salad for two, prepared tableside, as well as flaming dishes, also done tableside: steak Diane, Brome Lake duck a lOrange, sole “meuniere”, pepper steak and chateaubriand. Cherries jubilee and strawberries alla “Marco” for two are among the items on offer for dessert. It’s classic French flambé for traditionalists who prefer a bit of flair while dining—and appreciate a bit of flare with their tableside preparation. There are also many à la carte selections on the extensive menu that mostly sticks to the classics. michaelsonthethames
