Wow! Check out these photos of the Imperial House Apartments, located at 1808 West End Avenue, under construction on February 16, 1962. Designed by local architects Earl Swensson and Joe Kott, the 11-story Imperial House Apartments is one of the best examples of a Mid-Century Modern highrise in Tennessee. Vacant for many years, the owner, St. Thomas Hospital, intends to demolish the Imperial House, which was included on our 2010 Nashville Nine list of the citys most threatened historic places.
