Wow, GRUDGAH is once again won by St. Peters college. Too much to say, sorry if I leave something out. The day was started by the boys viewing the demolition of Auckland grammars cousin takapuna grammar get destroyed 5-1 against our mighty 1st XV. The March up St Peters Bridge commenced at 2:10, with everyone singing the chant of champions oh when the saints helped by Michael Nihotte on trumpet and Callum Williams on trombone. As we entered the horrid gates to the ghastly school they call Auckland Grammar the army matched on up to the field still chanting oh when the saints coming from the few hundred Peters army soldiers on the march. The army set up the big long tunnel for the players to run through but were not allowed to touch the field or the grammar principle would have cried. The players for the soon to be victorious St. Peters College 1st XV ran through the tunnel all with determined faces apart from one, Tanginoa Cheese Halaifonua ran through that tunnel with the biggest grin possible. After the deafening tunnel made by horns in double digits, drums, brass instruments, sirens, pistol Pete the trusty truck horn and of course the most valuable weapon in the Peters army armoury- Voices. The army marched on to snatch a location on the sideline. The game kicked off at 2:30 with a St. Peters knock on which wasnt a good start, the game started very messy with many knock ons by both teams in the opening 15 minutes. A earth shaking Dion repeat Fraser hit on an Auckland grammar back was the highlight in the first 15 minutes. St. Peters didnt capitalise on the opportunities presents upon them in this time with two penalties awarded to St. Peters for not releasing, both of these were chosen to take an opportunity to take the 3 points from these penalties. Both were missed by Jordan steam train Trainor. The game was tough in the first half, neither team got many line breaks, neither team made much ground, rucks were even, line out were majority even and scrums were reasonably even. St. Peters gained a penalty from approximately 40 metres out at around the 20 minute mark which was slotted with no troubles by Jordan steam train Trainor, with that it put St. Peters college into a 3-0 lead and also put Jordan steam train Trainor at number one for highest scoring player in GRUDGAH history. We would like to congratulate the humble man on this achievement. Soon after the prodigy Aleks hes year eleven Dabek entered a ruck and legally retrieved the ball which he then put the gas on and sprinted down the sideline with no one in support, he successfully side stepped (whacked) an Auckland grammar forward who fell to the ground, he continued to sprint down the side line where he eventually put the ball down in the corner while being tacked, after deliberation with the touch judge, the ref awarded the 50 metre try to the prodigy aka Aleks hes year eleven Dabek. With the successful conversion by Jordan steam train Trainor, St. Peters marched on to a 10-0 lead and this is where it stayed until the half time whistle. The half time break refreshed both teams as they came out firing, almost instantaneously Auckland grammar was awarded a penalty with which they easily turned into 3 points from 22 out. The penalty was awarded due to the fact that Filipo Jonah Lomu Fahiua dumped an Auckland grammar boy on his head, resulting in a yellow card given. This put the score at 10-3 to the mighty St. Peters College 1st XV. During this period of time with 14 St. Peters College players on the field, Aleks hes year eleven Dabek capitalised on a beautiful offload to take a line break with which he just kept running. He was tackled over the try line under the posts, where it appeared to be a good grounding followed by the ball lost afterwards. The touch judge did not see it this way awarding it a no try to the disgust of the Peters army. On the other side of the field Auckland grammar seized the opportunity placed upon them where they beat a broken St. Peters mid field, due to having no Filipo Jonah Lomu Fahiua due to him serving his time for a yellow card and a injured Darren Ohkillit Kellett. The highly hyped player, who was meant to be good Rieko Ioane beat the gap for the try from 3 metres out. With the successful conversion from the young number 10. It evened the score at 10-10. The crowd started to become hectic with chants and horns etc to pick the boys back up. When St. Peters finally gained Filipo Jonah Lomu Fahiua back from his yellow card. The game began to pick up. The line outs were outstanding with throws straighter than a ruler by captain Romero sarge Tagi, also contributing was great work by Tanginoa Cheese Halaifonua and Leroy Jackhammer Jack grabbing those line outs like Steven Adams grabs those rebounds. The set piece of the scrum was much more of an impact in the second half led by captain Romero sarge Tagi, with absolutely amazing work coming from the men to each side of him, Daniel DP Perez and the beast Fauula ULAAAAA Galo. With the locks previously stated doing it well in the scrum. Taina John Cena Fox-Matamua and Aleks hes year eleven Dabek and finally Josh Deputy Plummer all playing prominent roles in the pick up of the scrum game in the second half. With a few drops in critical times by Auckland Grammar wingers on high kicks, St. Peters was slowly working its was down the field were a well worked try was awarded to A.J. Asian Lam in the corner to the relief and excitement of the Peters army, this was not successfully converted by Jordan steam train Trainor. Leaving the score at 15-10. With the impact reserves known as Michael cleatus Walsh and Paxton chest day peckston Brown entering the field the crowd started to chant cleatus and chest day. The last few minutes of the game were extremely nail-bitingly tense but reasonably uneventful apart from a few monsters hits on some Auckland grammar players by Leroy Jackhammar Jack and others. When the final whistle blew the boys were jumping around and the crowd was absolutely mental. The game finished 15-10 to the pinnacle of delight for the Peters army. This week we are only going to name one player of the game, so we would like to congratulate Aleks Dabek on being our man of the match. We would like to congratulate Jordan Trainor for overtaking Bryn Hall for the highest scoring player in GRUDGAH history. We would like to thank all the Auckland Grammar students that said we were easy and said we dont even care about St. Peters, that game means nothing to us, yeah its fine, well just take the win. Next time Dillon Pead. We would like to thank the 2000 strong crowd for turning out to watch the mighty victory, we would also like to thank the old boys in attendance, including Francis Saili, Peter Saili (where are your blues players grammar?) and St. Peters legend and NZ 7s player Ben Lam. We would like to thank Wirimu Tapara very much for the stats. We would like to thank everyone who came down to witness history. 5 OUT OF THE LAST 6!! We retain the trophy which is rightfully ours. Thank you god for the St. Peters College 1st XV. 🔷🔶💙💛🔷🔶💛💙
