Wow! Had SUCH a near miss today. I was riding with my daughter as a pillion, on our way to church. At the intersection of Ratanga Rd and Century Drive, Century City (opp SMG BMW, Cape Town), a double-cab unceremoniously crossed the intersection in front of us, obviously not seeing us at all. I braked so hard that my back brakes locked, and I went into a mini-skid. We miraculously missed the double-cab, who continued driving away. I turned my bike around, and caught up with the driver at the next intersection / traffic circle. I shouted at her to stop her vehicle. When she stopped, I shouted at her that she could have killed both myself and my daughter. All she said was Jammer, jammer, jammer, ek het julle nie gesien nie (sorry, sorry, sorry, I did not see you). My goodness, as bikers, are we INVISIBLE? What will you say at my or my daughters graveside ... Im sorry, I did not see you??? That is NOT ENOUGH! Sorry is NOT ENOUGH!!! Open your bloody eyes, be aware that there are other users on the road, be aware that your actions can result in the loss of life. BE AWARE THAT SORRY IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!!
