Wow. How awesome to be blessed with such a wonderful experience yesterday. Gratitude is the first emotion that I feel and think of when I look back at my Marathon journey. Oh, the high hopes I had for myself. .. Nothing went the way I planned up until the night before the marathon. Absolutely nothing. My training mileage peaked at 16 miles and whenever i could fit in a run. Hydrating in long runs have always been my weakness and I knew this going into the marathon and I suffered because of it. BUT, I listened to my experienced fellow runners advice; Have fun, Hi-5 everyone, drink at every water station on the second half and enjoy the ride. They were SO right. So Thank you Terri, Julie and Mommy. Thank you to all who were out on the course cheering on all the runners! How fun to see you all out there the 1st half and how badly needing to see you out there the second half. God put my Mom right when I needed to see her most, mile 21, 22 & 23. Thank you Babe and Nicolefor all your hard work yesterday and in supporting me in everything I do. Thanks to my brother Scott,Patti and A Marie for coming out! Thank you Marvin for your positivity yesterday! I enjoyed every bit of this experience from the stress of fitting in a run, running at 4 am cause there are not enough hours in the day, to the pain, soreness, and the over whelming amount of JOY in finishing the race. Thank you God for the ability. I wanted to run this town yesterday and I did along with so many tough as nails runners. So Im taking my 4:07:33 finish proudly and humbly. Ive learned a lot about myself, this sport, and those that choose to run. Congratulations to ALL who participated yesterday. Continue to fly runners.
