Wow. I just observed an online argument between some Christians and some atheists. The Christians right out of the gate settled on an evil/idiot name-calling strategy. One claimed an IQ of 150, a career as a professor, and a PhD credential. An atheist responded to the insults self-admittedly poorly (he apologized a few posts later) by calling her a cunt and asking where she teaches and what subject. There was some more back-and-forth. One of the Christians accused an atheist of being a stalker rapist for seeking personal information such as where she teaches (it was worded as, Where do you teach, the University of Phoenix? etc). The Christian also said she was filling a *police report* with her detective relative, from what I could tell, on account of the stalking. I am continually dumbfounded by just how intense the need to feel persecuted is for Christians. No matter what the situation, if there is a way to twist it so theyre being attacked, they will find it. Did I mention that these Christians came voluntarily onto an atheist page to do their name-calling? And not just voluntarily, but it appeared to be their own idea? The gall of some of these people is simply mind-blowing.
