Wow. I must say... I find this assessment of the happiness quotient of the various states to be quite intriguing. #1 Happiest State is Hawaii. Not surprising. #50 Happiest State - meaning least happy state in the country - West Virginia. Also not surprising. My home state of Ohio ranked in the top bottom ten, as did a whole bunch of surrounding states in that region; Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia. It looks like the super religious, conservative and banal states of the country are the least happy and probably have more poverty. Interesting to note the top ten happiest states did not include the 3 west coast states - surprised me actually. I was surprised Oregon was not in the top ten.
