Wow! I was told that it would be a month before I felt the effect of Humira and Azara (no more Methotrexate!!!!). Two days in and I am already much better. If this is any indication, I will be able to walk without assistance in a week or two. (So excited!) One day of the mega dose of B12, (apparently I have a significant deficiency), and I have so much more energy. I felt so good after the first 1000 mcg that I looked up the symptoms of a deficit of this vitamin. Turns out it is important for several things. Not only will a lack cause depression, low energy, etc, it also can affect your heart, and your ability to walk, (This might explain the many falls I have had the past year and a half). There are other benefits, too. I have to take 2500 mcg a day. Add this to the 3000 mg of Calcium, 400 of vitamin D and the 2 mg of folic acid and it adds up to some absorption issue. Wondering if it is from all the medication, or the RA? No matter, vitamins are less frightening than more medication! (Still have to take the Plaquenil, Naproxen, Prednisone, Prilosec .... but if all goes well, the first 3 of these may eventually be eliminated. Woot!) I am so thankful that God has blessed doctors with their ability to diagnose and treat conditions. I am finally feeling optimistic about my future health!
