Wow. Ive received thoughtful personal messages from educators from more than 10 states in response to my column published today. What a gratifying feeling. This response came from Alabama: [Im] a colleague that is having the same struggles with bureaucratic mess in the schools. Im finishing my last year of college up while long-term subbing in the Birmingham City School District in AL. The teacher I took over for walked out two months ago and quit.
