No matter how famous he got over the years you could still hear/see him busking on a busy street corner in upstate new york for simple tips, and just hyping his next local gig just a tiny bit in between songs. I met him in passing at Nammys 1, but always planned to get to know him someday. Well there never was that someday for me, he died before I had that chance to go drive the 5+ hours and throw a dollar into his guitar case. But I have to tell you, watching him do this song live in Foxwoods Casino at the first annual Native American Music Awards-Nammys was sure to be a landmark in my life. 1998.
