Wow! These five weeks have already passed! To my friends and residents of Berklee 5-week 2014: Its been an honor and a pleasure getting to work with, assist, and know you these past 5 weeks, and wow did they fly by. When I got back home to New Orleans after my 5-week last year, in the first week, I, oddly enough, ran into two friends that I met at Berklee, coincidentally, in the same night. Yes, getting to Berklee and then financing it is difficult. Sometimes the scholarship and admissions process is, well, unfair. Im really fortunate myself to be with City Music - I never received any scholarship when I auditioned to the school. But theres so much time to do it; Berklee isnt going anywhere or out of sight anytime soon, and all you have to do is continue to shine and put in that hard work. I have no doubt that Ill be seeing many of you again, even in so much as the next year. The 270 crew this year has so much potential. In fact, I am aware of this: I can think of about 50 people I know from 5-week last year that are going to start attending in fall semester with me in just a few weeks. Five-week never really ends. Remember what Livingston Taylor said: the vision, that to be one that changes, a visionary, a healer, is a righteous path, a beautiful Vision. Remember that the interest is to lift the human condition. Remember to have both your hope, and your expectations of your Vision.
