Wow, We Really Need an IT Intern at Blizzard Lighting! Are you a student looking to get some hands-on, paid IT experience this summer? Do you want to put your newly acquired, almost unnatural abilities to the test, while secretly aspiring to claw your way to the top by using any means necessary… but then want be a fair and just ruler, and bring your company to new heights? Then Blizzard Lighting might just be the opportunity you seek! We have many various IT related tasks to accomplish and not enough technically minded monkeys to perform them all. Kidding aside, we are a Waukesha based manufacturer of LED entertainment lighting, and have a well established and respected brand in our industry. We have many products in use throughout the US and world. As an intern you will get to work with a variety of our staff and will work on real projects that will help us grow. Our ideal candidate is someone who has experience with Windows Server 2012 and Server 2012 Essentials to help maintain and optimize our in-house servers, has creative skills and familiar with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Indesign to help create new product package designs, web content, and printable product cut sheets. He or she will also help us make updates to our Linux based hosted Joomla website, and possibly start developing a new eCommerce website. If that isn’t enough, desktop and network support and optimization tasks also abound in our palace of amateur-implemented IT “best practices.” This is a flexible, probably part time 20+ hours-per-week paid gig that will give the right person hands on, real world experience and a chance to work and learn in a lighthearted atmosphere with interesting people (or so we think!) Stuff That The Ideal New Conscript Will Be Able To Do: • Experience with Windows Server 2012/Server 2012 Essentials. • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Indesign. • Familiarity with Joomla! CMS, Linux web servers, web content creation/standards/best practices/yadda/yadda/yadda • Wireless/Wired network support, troubleshooting, optimization • Mobile App development experience is also a plus. • Highly organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments and work independently. • Ability to make useful recommendations for new hardware and software purchases to improve efficiency in our growing business. Our Likes: • Musicians/aspiring musicians/musicians who’ve had their dreams crushed, have faced reality and now desire a “real” job AND who don’t need to bum a ride to get to work. • People who have some familiarity with intelligent lighting systems, or find them as beautiful and kissable as we do. • People who are exceptional at what they do, punctual, polite, love their moms and still make us laugh. • Someone who can finally explain why we should upgrade from DOS 5. Our Dislikes: • Nick Burns, Your Company’s Computer Guy. If this, for some reason, sounds interesting; well then WE WANT YOU! So what are you waiting for? Don’t delay, operators are standing by, so call now! Or actually, respond to this ad using the buttons which we’re sure you’ll find somewhere on this page. The position can be part-time or full-time through the summer and is available now. You are expected to work at least 20 hours per week and will be paid $10/hour. If we really like you and you really like us, opportunities here abound for the right guy or gal. To apply please submit your resume to us at jobs@blizzardlighting. We are, of course, an equal-opportunity employer.
