Wow. What a weird day. So last night I noticed that my engagement ring had slipped off my finger. I spent hours searching for it to no avail. It was the first night in 10 years that I slept without it on. Started the hunt again today and in the process came across the first present Jerry bought me. A watch, on our first Christmas as a couple. Apparently I had the wrist of a small child back in 1998! Then in desperation I put out a call for prayers to St. Anthony on Facebook. (Which worked, I found it 55 minutes later! Never underestimate the power of positive thinking) On that particular post a crafting friend of mine recalled a piece Id done for her circle journal back in 2006 about said lost and found ring and sent me pictures. I found so much comfort looking at what Id written. This ring was so special to me before Jerry died. Losing it for a day really made me wonder if it was Jerrys way of telling me it was time to take it off and put it away to pass down to one of the kids. Its a really hard thing to do. Once I take it off for good its the last step of accepting hes really gone from me forever. Obviously I accepted a long time ago that hes gone but theres something so final about taking off the ring. Anyhoo, after a long stressful day, Ive ended up with 3 precious things to show for it!
