Wow! Where to begin? I first met Rich when I was little Markie s teacher. At the time I taught a k-2 class so I was his teacher for three years. Mark is the youngest and he was the last to start school but Rich was there any time there was an activity at school. After Mark moved on to 3rd grade we didnt see each other for a long time. As a matter of fact it wasnt until Brandon was in high school and he and Mark connected through the youth group at Umatilla first baptist. There were a few times where I knocked on his door at 8:00 am on Sat. to find out if Brandon was asleep there. He was always gracious and said yep he sleeping in the bedroom. Many nights I did not worry because Mr. Ds door was always open to the youth. Mr. D is what Brandon always called him. So Brandon went away to college and I became an assistant principal and we saw each other from time to time in meetings. The day I became principal I was so happy to find out he was going to be my assistant principal! From day one he was my cheerleader! He coached me and guided me and I am positive prayed me through my first year as a principal. His love for the students was never ending and I still have students who ask why did Mr. Donohue leave and where is he. He will be missed!
