Wow, although the FeFF is over, the dust has yet to settle... Testimonials from our National and international filmmakers and screenwriters are rolling in. Thank you Cindy Hsieh. As a female filmmaker, I tend to keep an eye out for female-oriented film festivals. There is camaraderie among women in this industry, whether they are writers, directors, producers, editors, actors, etc., and it is always refreshing to meet people that understand your struggles and triumphs. The Female Eye Film Festival provided a welcoming and open platform for female filmmakers to share their craft, their stories, and their upcoming projects. It was a unifying experience with informative panel discussions, a book signing with a renowned female scriptwriter, networking/cocktail hours, and of course, extremely diverse and eye-opening screenings. I was honored to have my film included in such an insanely wonderful block of films. Also, Leslie Ann was a wonderful ambassador for the out-of-towners. She connected me with local filmmaker Annie Bradley, who allowed me to stay with her during the festival. Both women were so generous with their time and embodied the ideals behind FeFF. This was my first time attending the FeFF, but it certainly wont be the last. I hope to attend this festival in the years to come. It was everything a festival - focused on women - needed to be! Thanks for everything! Cindy Hsieh Dir. For the Love of Food
