Wow, an interesting read.. What are your thoughts on this? I just want to clear this up - just because I posted this link doesnt mean I support or not support the ideas written in this article before I get attacked at. Me personally, I think its definately unfair to pass judgement on Kayla - the internets a nasty place, I dont know her personally and neither do most of the world lol! But it just is what it is. This dude has some very valid points however. But, when it comes down to it - its just pixels on a screen. If Facebook and Instagram were non existent there would be no issue - but, the internet, on a phone and in a young girls hand can be a dangerous place. As someone who had and still has body dysmorphia to a point - it goes both ways. You cant escape the internet, but you can learn to manage it. Instead of thinking Oh but they didnt think about *** start thinking about what YOU should do - and thats follow more positive, uplifting pages without half naked selfies. Not saying Kayla isint uplifting and positive, its just different things work and motivate other people. With online programmes you have to be wary - they are generalised for the majority. They dont play in account hormonal imbalances, metabolic damage, eating disorders - all of which are things NOT designed for online programmes. I only worry because once you finish a programme/diet - thats it, your finished - and thats when your most susceptible to body dysmorphia, metabolic rebound and the likes. Heaps of girls have achieved great results by looking at her Instagram feed.. But thats all it is, an Instagram feed. Comparing yourself to that is pointless because 1. Those photos have filters and there would have been at least 20 others and she would have picked the best one (heck, I do it) Image sells. We cant escape it. But we can manage it and choose to pursue a path that makes us happy. I tag all my photos in #fitspo etc because I want to portray a positive message - if I post my comp photos, they get more likes - simply because my body is more appealing to the target market of fitspo. So, I always right up a big message on those photos - to remind those who seek that, what really matters. Any who... Theres my 2 cents :)
