Wow how quickly our lives changed. 3 years ago Steve and I were reeling after processing a "yes" to JFS. There was a newborn girl at the hospital in need of immediate placement. They wanted us to start the bonding process as soon as possible. I remember holding hands as we walked into the hospital. Thinking to myself, "I will not cry, I will not cry..." I remember Steve saying how he wasnt really comfortable with little babies and would it be ok if I just held her... I remember being so incredibly nervous and hopeful. And I remember the moment that Nurse Linda put that tiny precious baby girl in my arms for the first time, and how I cried because the aching hole in my heart was suddenly full and over flowing. I remember how softly Steve asked if he could hold her, and how she instantly stole his heart as well. Thank you! I wish I could thank you for this precious gift. I hope you find the strength you need to get well, because I hope that one day Kaylee will get to meet the woman who brought you into this world and selflessly accepted that she could not be the mommy you needed and trusted that the right mommy would find you. She is such a precious gift.
