Wow, incredible! (having trouble going to sleep) This is right down the road on I-5 .And I never knew thus historical fact . Heard plenty of stories about white settlers and founders of towns . But, Never! about African Americans other than Rosewood. And you know what happened to Rosewood. Anyway this is absolutely fantastic. I wonder do his descendants and the city acknowledge and honor this man. Gotta research this and find out. Yes, unneeded thus is interesting and enlightening. I wonder what the demographics are for this city ? Have the descendents men. assimilated? Are they no longer Black. Some lil Black boy is running around in Centralia , Washington as we speak. Thinking, his people have never accomplished much. And therefore it limits that childs aspirations and hopes/dreams as to what HE can do. Or perhaps not. Maybe he sat down with an elder. Or a caring white person. That understood the importance of that child. Being exposed to this lifting / validating knowledge of Self. This is good stuff. #Spread it! # Each one teach.
