Wow is all I can say! The day started off by Monicas aunt and uncle picking us up to take us to teotihuacan. We arrived at a small roadside cafe to eat a delicious meal chased with 2 beers after the insistence of Monicas uncle. This was breakfast mind you. The back drop were the volcanic mountains in the distance, and much closer the step pyramids of teotihuacan. We then all went into the historic park and hiked around the city of the dead. It was magical. Very gorgeous and awe inspiring. After 3 hours in the mid days sun, we took a brief brake to refill on water and sip on yet another couple of beers. Monicas uncle is a trooper, let me tell you. We finished off the day walking around the moon pyramid and then some other ruins. After getting a great sun burn, we all headed to a 100 year old restaurant that was housed inside a volcanic cave. The view was gorgeous, and the food equally amazing! A truly wonderful day I had. I cant thank Monica and her family enough. Now to take a nap before salsa dancing tonight!
