Wow, its been an incredible year. Had two relationships end in heartbreak, but excited about the new one Ive just begun! Lost one grandmother, and my other grandmother is in failing health, but my niece and nephew are growing up so cute and so smart! Broke the 5 minute mile barrier and then broke my foot. Traveled to Costa Rica, Miami, Boulder, Gainesville, the Outer Banks, Charleston, Destin, Indianapolis, and home to both Raleigh and Mars Hill, NC. Both struggles and success at work. Lived in the epicenter of a great national debate over the role and responsibility of police in a democracy and then saw the way that communities respond to tragedy in both heartbreaking and uplifting ways. I hope that your 2014 was as full of the good as mine was without so much of the bad, but sometimes the struggles are necessary. Lets all try to see each other as complete human beings in 2015, not as caricatures of an idea or as the moments in which we fail, and remember that there is always hope and good in others.
