Wow, my computer shut itself off while I was typing my witty account of todays adoptions. So now you will get a far less amuse bouche (I am doing the French thing in honor of Melanie Doctors, now doing her lingerie Thing in the city of exquisite lingerie. Jealous! Onward....we had five adoptions today and one done during the week for a total of 6 kitties from Devore and SBC that have gone on to Great New Families. Hollys beautiful sensuous kitty found a new home, my sweet Rowdy had a family all lined up with filed in paperwork and has definitely gone from Cinderella poor to Princess Cinderella. A small tear was shed as I kissed her face a thousand times....Next up was gorgeous Hurley, a long haired calico girl, so pretty it should be outlawed.Long, difficult adoption, as the family was torn between Hurley and Adam, the long haired black beauty. Many sobs later, democracy prevailed over totally cute smallest child, and Hurley went home. Then in came another family (I am now tearing my hair out as it is after 4:00 and we still need to break down, but how can you not diddle about while they dither about. Luckily, by then swarms of help had come in, FrankE and Debi , rhymes nicely, so I could be a maniac and they could calmly handle the lengthy discussion over kitties and start folding up the crates and tables, while I chased around looking for paperwork and money. Why, oh why, must everyone come in around 4:00 when that is when we go home? Happens in Studio City as well, and there is no way you arent going to stay and get the deal done. Then a family dropped off three kittens they could no longer keep, about four months old, snowshoe, rag doll, siamesy type so easy to adopt out it is almost criminal. Of course, no shots, not fixed, but hey, they had cute collars on! So I somehow came home with more than I left with. Now I am ready to crash into my G & T and watch tennis and forget the word cat, until the phone rings and someone asks if I have space, or.......
