Wow so i am in total shock, Valley cottage animal hospital in valley cottage ny, You should be ashamed of yourselves. A friend i met through rescue had a female pit that yes, got out while she was not home and yes got pregnant, mistakes happen, but another rescue she fosters for, never helped her with getting not one but two pitty girls spayed like they claimed they would, shame on you, but in any case, i got a call a little after midnight a few days ago, she started giving birth, first pup was stuck, tried helping over phone but everything i told them to do just would not get the pup out, off to valley cottage they went, ok so they see this baby is half in half out, they say this baby is stuck, we have to do xrays and ultra sound, my question to them was why, just knock her out open her up and ur gonna see whats in there when u do this, no need for additional tests, more money, well i was on speaker phone, asked if they work with rescue, nope was the answer i heard, how unprofessional to say nope. Ok so they say u must give us 2,500.00 but the bill is 2,900.00, before we will touch her, omfg Ok so the choices were, pay up, euthanize or leave, heartless bastards. I called my vet at almost 4 am, thats the time now, no problem bring her in, pup is dead because valley cottage yanked around, this baby was opened up, dead pup pulled back through and then spayed, all for a little over 1,100.00, valley cottage animal hospital, your a rip off, you only care about the money and not the animals or the people that love their animals, i would never recommend your practice to anyone. I went to the ratings site, not such good reviews, here is one i copied and pasted. Gregg F.Valley Cottage Animal Hospital is all about the money and their bottom line. I brought my beloved Rottweiler in for a wellness exam and her annual vaccinations. Four days after that, my dog was unable to walk, in excruciating pain and no longer eating. I took her back to VCAH, where they wasted her precious time taking x-rays, ultrasounds and claiming she most likely had a tumor or cancer. They sent us home with oral medications knowing full well she was not able to eat. Hours later we rushed her back because she was vomiting and her leg had swollen up to 3x its normal size at the injection site (of the vaccinations administered by VCAH days before). We believe at this point they administered pain medication, only after wasting more time reviewing their ignorant estimate of costs. After leaving my baby at the hospital and while driving home at 2:30 a.m., the hospital asked that I return and give them a $500 deposit toward the estimated bill. The next morning we transferred my dog to Cornell University where she was immediately diagnosed with a sepsis infection and began treatment. How can one doctor so clearly diagnose a life threatening infection when the doctors at VCAH insisted it was either cancer or a bad reaction to the vaccinations? Sadly, my baby died at Cornell from complications stemming from the infection she received at her wellness visit at VCAH. VCAH’s incompetence in recognizing their unfortunate mistake cost my dog valuable time, unbearable pain and suffering and in the end – her life. My dog would still be alive if I never took her to VCAH. The doctors at VCAH lied to me, and while my baby was being taken out on a stretcher to be transferred, were still denying any wrong doing, insisting it was my dog’s fault (her immune system fighting the vaccine), and most concerned with receiving payment on the small balance due then they ever were about my dog. If you love your pet, please stay away from VCAH because they ARE ONLY CONCERNED WITH MONEY.
