Wow...some very cool thoughts from one of our Backers for our Kickstarter campaign for the new CD, in a letter to our Producer, Don Richmond!! Thank you so much for supporting our campaign! ------------- Don, With regard to 2-Bit, I think your kickstarter request is much too low! To forgo the cost of a cup of coffee per month for a year, to me, is not out of line for anything, especially to help a group trying to make it…. (and I do not even drink coffee, cowboy or other)….After all, what can you really get for $2-$5 bucks these days? Not much. I listen to public radio a lot and as one would expect, there are a lot of fund raising marathons needed to get the contributions necessary to keep their programing and operations on going. What they do to soften the blow of the donations to the listeners is to break the requests down into the daily amount someone would be willing to give up…. In the case of 2-Bit it would be $.06 to $.16 per day to help them out depending on the level of the contribution for a month. To extrapolate that number out for 12 months is not much of a stretch….($21.90 - $58.40, again depending on the contribution level.) I am down for that meager amount. In relative terms, the maximum yearly contribution would be barely half a tank of gas, or two boxes of bullets, or in my case, two glasses of 18 year old single malt scotch…My wife and I have enjoyed their music since the Barn dance two years ago and also from a couple of local concerts in and around town, plus sitting in with Shake and Michael/Mike a couple of times. We will continue to support them, and all live music for that matter, when and how we can. Thanks for everything you do for music and musicians………….
