Wow. that. was. intense! So ive always wondered what i would do if i happen to come across a woman being beaten by a larger man. Tonight, i found out. I was driving home on my bike and saw a struggle in the distance. I drove close and realized it was a large drunk hispanic male beating up his wife in an empty parking lot with his two little girls screaming at him. I stopped my bike and yelled at them but he kept beating her. I ran up and jumped on the man and put him into a choke hold. I held him for about a minute as he yelled at me to let him go. I told the woman to call the police but she said he threw her phone. I knew my phone was in my pocket but couldnt get to it. He eventually struggled enough and got out of my hold while i was repositioning my arms. He yelled Im going to f***ing kill you as he started to chase me. I realized the attention was now on ME and not the woman so my mission was accomplished, however i NOW needed to keep myself from being hit, stabbed, or worse. He continued to chase me and all i could think of was the word cardio from the movie Zombie Land. (I swear that is what i was thinking btw). I knew hed run out of gas before i did. He eventually turned around and i dialed 911 as i watched him run for my motorcycle, which i had left the keys in the ignition. I suspected hed just kick the bike over out of anger. Nope, he decided to get on it and attempt to steal it, but i guess he realized he didnt know how to drive a bike b/c he couldnt get it started. He then ran off and left his family there crying. 6 squad cars, 1 police report, 4 witnesses and a helicopter later, they caught the guy. Haha, coincidentally Ive worn a lot of super-hero costumes in my career, but tonight i was tested for REAL. Im glad her and her girls are okay :)
