Wow, there indeed are (and have been) a *LOT* of movies coming out about A.I. and robots. (I *still* have not seen Automata, because AFAIK it hasnt come to Tucson *AT ALL* - NOT EVEN TO THE LOFT!! But here is a trailer and synopsis for another robot/A.I. film, EX MACHINA (from the Greek Deus Ex Machina, meaning, literally God from Machine - though it first arose to refer to a *plot device* in Greek Tragic Theater: (Origin of the expression[edit] Deus ex machina, from Latin deus, meaning a god, ex, meaning from, and machina, meaning a device, a scaffolding, an artifice, is a calque from Greek ἀπὸ μηχανῆς θεός (apò mēkhanḗs theós), meaning god from the machine.[2] The term was coined from the conventions of Greek tragedy, where a machine is used to bring actors playing gods onto the stage. The machine could be either a crane (mechane) used to lower actors from above or a riser that brought actors up through a trapdoor.) But here is the synopsis and trailer for the film EX MACHINA:
Alex Garland, writer of 28 Days Later and Sunshine, makes his directorial debut with the stylish and cerebral thriller, EX MACHINA. Caleb Smith (Domhnall Gleeson), a programmer at an internet-search giant, wins a competition to spend a week at the private mountain estate of the companys brilliant and reclusive CEO, Nathan Bateman (Oscar Isaac). Upon his arrival, Caleb learns that Nathan has chosen him to be the human component in a Turing Test—charging him with evaluating the capabilities, and ultimately the consciousness, of Nathans latest experiment in artificial intelligence. That experiment is Ava (Alicia Vikander), a breathtaking A.I. whose emotional intelligence proves more sophisticated––and more deceptive––than the two men could have imagined.
https://youtube/watch?v=s-HiQ9K2uf4
