Wow, this is kind of mind-blowing: 1) They seriously believe that highly-sophisticated sports rights holders will treat Dallas differently simply because we change the name of an entity from a division to a commission? 2) The new sports commission, funded by the City of Dallas, is going to become a REGIONAL marketing entity, without any of the rest of the region (i.e. Arlington, Frisco, Irving, Ft. Worth, etc.) having to contribute a dime? 3) The new sports commission is going to consider getting involved in producing its own sports events, something traditionally undertaken by private enterprise? Also, this: “I’m a very competitive person, but I look at it this way,” (the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureaus Monica) Paul said. “I want it [the event] in Dallas. And if that’s not possible, I definitely want it in the region because all of us win.”---- errr... no, thats not true all of the time. How does Dallas win if a soccer tournament is held in Frisco, or a football game is played in TCUs new stadium? It doesnt-- that statement seems silly.
