Wow, this song brings back super great memories of Rye and I when we were just teenagers, about the same age as our Hannah and her sweetheart Josh. I remember the 1st time I met him, just months from my 17th birthday, and he was 18. We were from 2 different worlds, him country, livestock, and farming and me a small town girl whod never seen a horse much less ridden one. We went to different schools, so we spent every minute possible together when we coild. He always said, I dont know why you wear makeup, Melissa. Youre beautiful just like you are even up to the day he died. His 1st car was a 79 Camaro, and wed drive down to Daddys house on the Sabine River just so we could go swimming in the river behind the house and 3-wheeler ride in the woods. Little did we know the heartache and pain that wed face throughout all these years, but it never changed the true person he was in his heart and I cherish the 4 living pieces of each of us. He gave me the beautiful babies Id always wanted, and now he lives on in each of them in each their own unique way. He will always be my first love and the first true gentleman Id ever met. I dont regret a moment of the years that connected us in so many ways, because even the rough years made us who we were today and what wed become to each other.
