Wow this video really hit home. I wish everyone, especially men, understood the daily struggle women go through just by walking out in public. Catcalling at girls on the street is not an effective way to flirt. Its not cute. Its not a compliment. Its harassment, and it needs to stop. It makes going out in public really uncomfortable and sometimes downright scary. Like these women, Ive been assaulted by a perfect stranger out in the open. In my case, I was right in my own driveway. I still have extreme paranoia walking my dog around the block or being outside at night. Its not okay. We shouldnt have to live our lives in fear of walking down the street or wearing a dress that accents our figure because it may attract unwanted attention. Its the only body we have and we cant change it, nor should we have to in order to be respected. Just because I have boobs on my chest does not give you the right to grab them. We should not be teaching our girls to live in constant fear; to dress conservatively in order to avoid giving off the wrong impression, or to be paranoid about walking down the street, or to always carry around pepper spray or a taser. Instead, we should be teaching our boys to respect women. Maybe if we did the world we lived in would be a little bit safer and more enjoyable for all of us.
