Wow, today is the 100th anniversary of the assassination of Franz - TopicsExpress

Wow, today is the 100th anniversary of the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. His death was the spark which ignited WW I, which facilitated the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and later the British Empire and the rise of the American Empire. WW I was a direct cause of WW II, and then the Cold War, Korea, Vietnam & Laos, both Gulf Wars, Afghanistan, and todays crisis in Iraq. All of it, a hundred years of death and destruction, a chain of events spreading like a fire that was lit with an assassination in Sarajevo 100 years ago today. Dont get me wrong, the tinder and kindling for war were there already; if it hadnt been this assassination that sparked WWI, something else would have. Europe was ready to go up in flames, and if this assassination didnt do it, something else would have. Its just fascinating to see how one event starts a chain of events that re-makes the world.
