Wow, we had a very productive day! We spent some time out in the community today putting up signs and talking to people. I also had the opportunity to meet with a group of teachers and discuss their concerns. I have many more concerns about the future of BISD after our meeting, and I learned that there are some rumors that I need to address. It has been brought to my attention that certain people are saying that I was asked to run for this position by the current administration. I would like to go on record and say this is not true, and my campaign slogan is Time To Do Something which means I do not agree with the status of BISD and I want to do something about it. Further it means that I believe that our Teachers are our greatest asset and we have to take a stand and listen to our teachers and their concerns. Simply we have to trust our Teachers. Teachers can no longer be afraid to come to their Board of Trustees with their concerns, in fear of their jobs. Teachers should have the support of the administration in disciplinary actions, and not be ignored. I believe we are loosing quality teachers because of the current conditions and that is the reason I am running for this position. I am against voting against a curriculum, because the people are against it, but allowing it to be called something else and still using it. I am against keeping quite until election time and then saying all the things people want to hear. This is not an election for a paying position, it is an election for our Children, Teachers and our future. This is just a few bullet points, and I am willing to meet in person with anyone to discuss every concern. Please come to the source to get the facts and dont believe the desperate rumors. I stand for a better environment for our Teachers and Students and I promise you will hear from me when this is not happening, and not just at election time. Please feel free to call me at anytime to discuss your concerns for BISD or to answer any questions 979-482-7370. Thank You, and God Bless!
