Wow, we have 19 new likes in 4 days, and two co-ops in the community that have asked to tag along with these field trips. I guess God knew what He was talking about when He laid this project on my heart over the holidays! I personally know very few of the people that have liked this page. Field Trips R Us is not a group that is sponsored by a cover or support group or promotes any particular faith. I designed it that way intentionally as I would personally like to see the homeschool community in our area network more with one another. I am simply a homeschool mom of 8 years that enjoys local history and teaches more easily if I can experience something first hand myself. We know that homeschool parents are the REAL students, can I get an Amen? My back ground is in public relations so I have always enjoyed putting events together for others. Offering this as a random, open resource allows homeschoolers (and their parents!) to meet each other as different people come each time. So how this works, is that I plan random field trips and post them here! When you see "OPEN:" at the beginning of a post that means you can then sign up by emailing me at winchestergang@yahoo NOT here on the page :) Details for each event will vary and will be included in the post. I do my very best to keep costs down and the more that participate, the lower our rates usually are. In the past I have been able to offer free admission to some parents with 3+ children, just depends. Right now I am focusing on a particular series of excursions called "True Tales of Birmingham," that is based on a a book from the Bham Historical Society by the same name. Hope to meet more of you soon! Happy Field Tripping! ~clarissa winchester
