Wow what a day- this is my surgeon update sending it to all as its too much to go through with everyone individually. Today at one thirty I was to meet with the surgeon to set a date for surgery, this was to have been done on the 5 th but he had an energency so all was discussed with his assistant. So we scheduled for the 12 at 7:20 am git there and found out he had an emergency craniotomy. So I did get oater work to extend my leave as needed and was to come back at 11:30 the next day, the 13. Got a call the afternoon if the 12 that said he had another energency surgery so to come at 1:30. Got there at 1:30 and was told he was still in surgery and it would be about 30 minutes. So saw him at 2:00. He was unprepared for the meeting, as they were unable to find all the mylogram and X-rays that theyd seen in Juky that indicated a need for surgery, hep just had the MRI that didnt really show enough detail, he was still concerned about the clot and doing the surgery so soon after. He then went into all the risks and in my state I git upset and he said well are you wanting surgery? Which made me think I didnt need it and he thought I just wanted. So I started crying and said well no if its not safe but I cant live in pain like this and then he said well youve got 25 discs they could all start doing this so this isnt going to fix everything which I knew, but said we have been dealing with this fir several years and I needed it fixed. So he said okay, go on home and calm down Im going to relook at everything and call you back. So I spent all afternoon under my blanket, wouldnt even snuggle with my pugs! The surgeon called at 5:30 and said that L4 L 5 are bad they need fused and that they are slipping causing the pain and I did need surgery. He said the earliest hed feel comfortable was the 3rd week of December then it is 2-5 days in the hospital, then 2-4 weeks at a rehab center then at least 4 months if very restricted activity -so best case maybe getting back to school mid May. He also wants me to wear a back brace now and no bending at all not even dishwasher and laundry which Ive been doing, he feels I just really need to limit activities to walking around the house, sitting and working on projects and resting with my legs up, so that I can heal from the first surgey. So the nurse is calling back tomorrow and we will set a date for early January and Im going to try to accept the fact that God is watching out for me and there is a reason this surgery cant happen until January. So Im sorry to those who called today that I didnt answer and Im going to need a few days to process and get my cheeriness back but Im hoping to be back to my new normal by Sunday! Please keep me in your prayers and Im not shy about asking for help when needed, so I will if I need something I will let you all know!
