Wow what a day! We barely finished our morning bath and got dressed and Physical Therapy started. He exercised in bed and then was transferred into his special chair on wheels. After a few adjustments Raymond was holding his head up on his own, no straps, no assistance. He got a lap tray for his arms and we went to the day room where there was live music. He stayed up for 2 hours, he opened his eyes several times and we held hands. It was a little scary having him up for such a long time I worried it was too much but he did great! As soon as we got him back in bed wound care started and then minutes later more therapy. Needless to say by 3:00 he was exhausted and ready to rest.and to be honest so was I, lol. This is without a doubt the most difficult thing I have ever had to do, to watch my big, strong husband be lifted in and out of bed, to be totally dependant on others for all his most basic needs. My mind has become consumed with his needs and learning how to take care of him nothing has ever been so important to me. Im so proud of his daily progress and can slowly start to see my husband coming back to me. My heart is starting to work again, I can close my eyes at night and not be afraid to wake up now. We are doing this together, with Gods healing love and the best family and friends by our side. Day 24 and MACDADDY rocked it! Hes my hero. Be good to each other. Love yall.
