Wow, what a meeting! It is my opinion that, while they are so very careful not to overstep their LEGAL boundaries, the South Whitehall Township commissioners were actually moved by our input. That of course guarantees nothing. However, the best part of our joint presentation, was the "OLD SCHOOL" dressing down, done by none other than Joseph Zeller, former Emmaus mayor, legislator, and, of all things, chiropractic advocate. He will be 95 tomorrow! Anyway, he retold some stories of his legislative years, and how he fought against Harrisburg in order to maintain the integrity of local governments. He then admonished the commissioners not to pass the buck, but be their own legislative body! I say it worked! for more meeting coverage, I hope others present will post. BTW, Nancy Lloyd did an outstanding job on "guiding" the council on many key points!
