Wow what a weekend indeed of excitement & learning about oneself..... 😻 After qualifying my mare its now my geldings turn. First start in the dark for me, LOVES IT, though bit scary 😆. Started strong in the 100km on my Pudgy Wudgy boy with Linda Dix as a riding buddy, surprisingly our horses went well together & we rode strong around the first leg. Vetted thru fine with surprising low H/Rs for my boy, then off again for our second leg 😬😕. This is where I need to thank a few people...... 😻💗💐. Got halfway between home & 1st 4.5km checkpoint & my steel oxbow stirrup bolt snaps big time. Thought like crying as wasnt going to even get my boy thru his first 80kms 😢😢😢. Rang my good friend Kerry Rose back at camp to say walking back in. Next thing she has organised for me to keep going with getting Glenn Dix & Debs hubby Terry to bring me out her saddle even though they where very busy driving around in course doing things. Cannot thank Kerry or Glenn & Terry enough. Terry Jewell I hope I didnt break ya back when ya tried legging me up into the saddle lol. Also want to thank a couple of lovely ladies where from Bruces checkpoint my boy hit his brick wall really bad. I was seriously having trouble keeping him going & these two lovely girls from Geraldton(sorry forgot names but one of you qualified on your lovely grey, congrates big time too), allowed me too tag along to help me finish our 80km. So this weekend was a big learning curve for me in soooo many ways & that I can ride my boy alone with no issues lol, how to deal with a major hit a brick wall horse & soooo much more. Plus I cant thank me matey Kerry & her girls enough for helping me they the VGIH, couldnt have done it without yas xo😻 Love our endurance family & how we are soooo willing to help each other out. 😻💗💐 Also a big congrates to the four awesome foursome on qualifying for the quilty, you guys rock!!!!! 💝😆
