Wow, what an amazing concert and tribute to our Veterans! I am overwhelmed with feelings of pride and joy! I am proud to be an American, proud to have the opportunity to work with the best musicians in Middle Tennessee, proud to work with an executive board that takes a dream and makes it happen, proud to be surrounded by so many supportive positive parents, and proud to have the support of so many wonderful music educators. I feel great joy when I hear the orchestra play and see the smiles on their faces as they realize what we have accomplished, not only musically but in emotionally affecting people through our music. Todays performance was incredible! There are far too many people to thank individually but I do need to say a special thank you to Donna Scudder who served as the coordinator for this event. I also need to thank Debra Tyree for a stirring rendition of The Battle Hymn of the Republic. Lastly, the Williamson County Youth Orchestra would like to thank the men and women who have served in our military, this concert was for you! Words cannot express our gratitude for all you have sacrificed for us...for our country, its people and its freedoms.
