WrItten as a rambling on 9/11/14 and originally posted on my writers and storytellers page. Dont mean to be negative or depressing but it is an observation maybe others can relate to as well. When one is part of a sub-culture within the grand scheme of things, he or she is targetted because how studies show his or her people possess loyalty unlike the common man. The history of Appalachia and its role within the development of government, industry, etc. Speaks loudly. We have been used for a LONG time to help build the fortune of others while we remain behind. The first step in change is usually acknowledgement: Tragedy Always someone elses fault Accountability Will bring one to a hault Acceptance Not a chance Belief Only when it provides release Burden Carried within Knowledge Dodged Reality A casualty Because they said it And ones excuse is fits It becomes fact No taking it back Standing in ignorance With no chance Of listening
