Wrapping up our weekly updates with something delicious. Going forward with our diva Sharmila Banerjees column...From Sharmilas Kitchen. This week she shares with us the recipe Golando Chicken. Sharmila says The most talked about and controversial chicken dish. Basically it’s a heritage chicken dish from a small town of Bangladesh, Goalondo, situated in the bank of river Padma. During the British raj, the train connection between then Capital Calcutta and East Bengal was terminated in Goalondo and those travelling to East Bengal, Assam or Burma took the steamer from Goalondo. The Goalondo steamer then travelled up to Narayanganj in Dacca, which was an overnight journey.
