Status Update By B Marie Wallace Billie Marie Bennett, age 79, of Aurora, MO, formerly of Wichita, KS, was called to her Heavenly home on Friday evening, May 30, 2014, while at the Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett, MO. Billie was born on October 5, 1934 in Wichita, daughter of the late Herman Wallace and Thelma (Waltz) Wallace. She was raised in Valley Center, KS, graduating with the Class of 1953 from Valley Center High School. She was a member of the Valley Center Christian Church. For many years, Billie was employed by Wal-Mart in Wichita, working in the fabric department. Billie enjoyed dancing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society in Aurora. In 2010, Billie moved from Wichita to Aurora to be with her daughter. She is survived by one son, Bret Dingus, of Pittsburg, KS; one daughter, Renee Kennedy, of Aurora; one brother, Charles Wallace, and wife Glenda, of Hollywood, FL; two grandchildren, Crystal Morris, and husband Charles, of Richland, N.C. and Cheryl Prifti, and husband Paul, of Aurora; three great-grandchildren, Connor Morris, Corbin Morris and Laira Prifti; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. A memorial visitation to celebrate Billie’s life will be held from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the Aurora Heritage Harmony House, 700 S. Hudson, Aurora. Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Resthaven Cemetery in Wichita. In memory of Billie, memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army, Lacoba Homes or the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
