Write your MP if you are able - it may not do any good but at least theyll know were watching what they do... :o) Dear Mr. Hawn, Im writing to urge you to please support the recognition of the right to clean air, water and food by all levels of government — and work quickly toward enshrining the right to clean air, water and food for EVERY Canadian in the Canadian Constitutions Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Im also writing to urge you to please support the CBC by returning the recent $115 million funding cuts, and also by initiating increased funding for the CBC. Canadians can easily afford to pay $50 a year per person (LESS than $1.00 a week!) for the CBC - Canadas primary source of NON-PROFIT information. Not for profit journalism is obviously the most unbiased form of journalism, by its very nature. Democracy is built upon access by citizens to UNBIASED information. Please advance the position of the CBC as one of Canadas Corner Posts of Democracy! Also, im writing to urge you to please support the CBC by legislating INDEPENDENCE FROM and IMMUNITY TO POLITICAL INTERFERENCE. I dont need to remind you that political interference in news and information reporting in any democracy, UNDERMINES the democratic process and has the potential to DESTROY democracy Canada. Will the destruction of the CBC be a part of YOUR LEGACY as an MP? You are an Albertan, and i know you want to do those things in government that will benefit future generations. Politicians that do the contrary, have already seriously damaged Canadas democracy via voter apathy. Future generations will be very aware of YOUR CONTRIBUTION to THEIR LIVES. Your choices, as an elected MP, are very crucial as to the way our children will view your contributions during your tenure. Please choose with integrity - and with our childrens long term future in mind. Thank you.
