Writers International Network (WIN) Canada proudly announces the establishment of a Global Harmony Award. This award will be conferred to a distinguished world citizen who has made significant contributions to world harmony by creating greater cross-cultural and international understanding of arts and literature and bringing together writers of diverse genres, artists, painters and photographers to unite mankind under the banner of unity in diversity. Also WIN is proud to announce that Ms. Alicia R. Bernal is the first recipient of Global Harmony Award. This honor is bestowed on her in absentia at the Council Chambers of City Hall of Richmond in B.C., Canada on Saturday, October 5, 2013 during the celebrations of Autumn Dance Poetry Festival. She is also being bestowed with the Dr. Asha Bhargava Memorial “Literary Ambassador Award” for inspiring and supporting artists all over the world by creating a family of writers and artists affectionately called “Axlepinos.” These awards and certificates will be delivered personally to her by Ashok Bhargava on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 in the Philippines. Alicia R. Bernal belongs to an extremely intelligent family that has earned many accolades. After fine arts studies she moved with her former husband into the high society circles and achieved various distinctions. She is a very kind and generous philanthropist just like her father. After her full recovery from a near fatal illness, she took a180 degree turn, left a life of luxury and imposed an early retirement on herself. She is now fully immersed in a personal mission that everyone she knew thought was impossible for her to achieve. She has done wonders in succeeding in her mission because of her faith in Almighty God, a source of love and inspiration. Alicia is the creator of Axlepin Publishing and under her leadership it has risen to become a bastion of arts, inspiration and creativity. She believes that, “as a community we are enriched when we learn from each other by converging together to share our experiences, perspectives and point of views as how to see the world through each others’ eyes.” As a big-sister-figure she has helped build connectivity, trust, empathy and a sense of belonging. She continues to connect, share, support, encourage and plant seeds of inspiration in the hearts of writers and artists through her endeavours.
