Writing Tips is on my mind. TIP THIRTEEN: CHARACTER - TopicsExpress

Writing Tips is on my mind. TIP THIRTEEN: CHARACTER DEVELPOPMENT: You breathe life into them, then they start to breathe life into you. Its a symbiant relationship. You start with conversation, then it turns into something else; something special. These people now start to have meaning. They are part of your story and part of their own. This is where they get real...oh yea. Passing all the proper English, composition, standards, grammar...they need to stick. THIS, is something I get push-back a lot from. Your people need to live. Simple as that. Ever see bad acting? Its not much different. Dont push it or force it. Editing will fix the little errors. You concentrate on the bigger picture. Move the story along and dont worry. Believe me...after enough editing Ive learned the difference. I can hear their breath, feel the weight of their shoulders and get involved. Fair enough? Developing your characters to life is about bringing life from nothingness. Powerful...but remember every great book youve written. They did that. Dont think about them in, Chicago Manual of Style writing. These are people. People dont know dick-squat about that. Cleaning it up is for later. In the end, my point is let your characters live...dont force them into conformity. Peace~
