Writing is cathartic they say, and sometimes what others write - TopicsExpress

Writing is cathartic they say, and sometimes what others write about their own struggles is placed before you as a sign from above that it, too, can be equally so for you - though your experience is different in some ways. I am reading my seniors personal narratives and came across this; I wanted to share. It is still difficult for me to fathom that we all made it through in one piece. Frankly, I do not want to seek that understanding, because we are all rather messed up in one way or another. Yet, through every rock bottom and wrong turn that we encountered, some things really never change. Family will endure and manifest itself in ways that have nothing to do with blood. The facade of happiness was torn away and in return we all took a step towards the real thing. Humanity’s elasticity is continually astonishing to me. We have tested the limits almost to breaking point, yet we are on our way back to a near original state, perhaps vastly different than we were before. I cannot say what the future has in store, but I know I am the sum of my experiences and life is happening all around me. I have nothing to fear anymore. I think I can finally feel myself in motion.
