Writing my Philosophy of Education and this is what Ive got so far. Please do provide feedback - what do you think is an important core value, goal of education? Why does it matter and what is a teachers role in that education? Title: If you walked by my classroom and the door was open, what would you see? Ordered chaos. Children would be energetic and mobile, engaged and actively participating in their learning experience. I would be immersed among them, clarifying and guiding them – challenging them, encouraging them to exceed their own expectations. You would see children collaborating with one another; a community of students that respects themselves and one another. Learning would be brought to life. Demonstrations, inquiry driven lesson plans, and labs would be molding my students into scientifically literate, critical thinkers. Academic thought would be present. My students would be confident, and informed. Able to critically evaluate the credibility of their sources, and communicate their thoughts and ideas effectively. Self motivated, team players that are driven by an authentic and aware desire to implement change. You would see a teacher working tirelessly to give student’s ownership over their education. An investor in our future – an advocate for equitable, quality education. A science nerd and life long learner who is radically committed to inspiring, engaging, and uplifting children.
