Writing out your Achievements! SUCH a good thing to do! Go..now...do it... DO NOT BE ASHAMED OF HOW GREAT YOU CAN BE! AND DO NOT BE ASHAMED TO SHARE THAT GREATNESS! So I wrote an email to an agent recently and after a response from them telling me they were full already, needed to focus on the artists they had and were looking for people with concrete experience I decided to reply with a little more depth (more than my original I am a spoken word artist email) ... after I wrote it i felt pretty good about myself... and I felt to share what I had written: Thank you for your reply. I appreciate your commitment to your artists. For your knowledge here is a little extra about me regarding the points you mentioned in your last email. My performance style is a unique mix of Storytelling, Rap, Poetry and Clowning. I have currently one album (soon to be two) and a book (self published and sold internationally) available, although Spoken Word and Teaching is my focus. As far as concrete speaking experience goes, I studied at a famous Stage School in the UK called The Brit School (home of Amy Winehouse, Adele, and many other internationally acclaimed performers) before going on to complete a degree in Performance and Visual Arts. Over the last 10 years have performed and spoken in schools and public events internationally (I opened last years Mindful in May alongside Dr Russ Harris, writer of The Happiness Trap) as well as hosting various events in three different continents. I also teach a self-developed 6 week course looking into self confidence, the power of passion, vulnerability and honesty through the vehicle of Spoken Word. My students have included cases such as a person in their 50s who had not left their house for many years after a traumatic experience, they are now fully integrated back into a normal life, the course was a massive part of this transition. On the other end of the scale is a 15 year old girl who although still at school wanted to follow her passion for spoken word and out of school hours completed one of my 4 week courses and has since gone on to perform in front of public audiences receiving wonderful feedback. I understand you already have Spoken Word Artists on your books and I also understand that I am more than just a Spoken Word Artist and felt to expand a little on my original bio.
