Supreme Court has said that no doctor can be arrested unless & until the primary enquiry by medical board says so. But Dr.Gupta arrested immediately which is contempt of Supreme Court... Justice Lahoti former Chief Justice of india gave decision in support of doctors facing negligence.. Hence many doctors were not convicted facing charges of negligence... The drug manufacturer & supplier is son in law of health minister of CG ( unconfirmed sources). We are not united & honest hence everyone is behind us.. Truth... Whatever has happened in Bilaspur is not surprising . All over India same kind of LTT camps are being held for more than 25yrs. Most of the places patients numbers are varying from 25 to 100 in a day. All these patients are not investigated for Hb, BT ; CT ; RBS ; Urine, HIV ,HCV, HbsAg . Basic requirement is absence of pregnancy. All of the patients are given inj atropine . Inj fortwin , inj calmpose & inj xylocaine for LA . patients are kept in a barely ventilated small room mostly sitting position without any IV line & nil orally for 3 to 5 hrs. Most of the set up are having 2 sets of Laparoscope & side by side 2 OT tables tilted almost 45 degree . Patients are put on this tilted table with head down . Regular experience LTT sugeon takes 45 seconds to 1min30 seconds for incision , LTT & removal of scope. Stiches are put by assistant nurse . By that time surgeon finished the second patient. At the same time used Laparoscope & pyramidal trocar with cannula are cleaned with warm water using gauge piece & sometime luxury of surgical spirit is also available for cleaning purpose. No varess needles , open entry or blunt safety trocar cannula are used for 1st entry. .. Neither CO2 is used for inflation of abdominal cavity . It is either atmospheric air by pulling the abdominal wall up or using simple tubing with rubber bulb to push the air in. Few over enthusiastic people use cycle pump and even mouth for inflation Mostly available monitoring is a person holding patients pulse but sometime anesthetist is also holding the pulse. After finishing the procedure patient is made to walk to the recovery room where she can sit or sometime lye down. This all is being done in the name of National program. Whole system is responsible for this butchery and barbarian act. Patients are interested in procedure & money. Health worker has to finish target &gets commission. Surgeon can refuse to do such kind of work without proper infrastructure. But due to greed & pressure of higher officers make him do this. Ideally once used instruments after cleaning should either autoclaved or put in CIDEX for 30 to 45 minutes. That means in 8 hrs one. surgeon WITH 2 scopes can perform max 18 LTT . Just imagine I have seen 40 LTT in 1hr 30 min In one such camp. We need to come out with the solution. We can not blame a single person or single agency. One more truth which most of you are unaware... All districts are given targets for sterilisation operations... Done by doctors... BUT if target is fulfilled then on 26th Jan every year the collector of that district is given cash prize of Rs. One lac...nothing for doctors who did surgery... But for the good the Collector is awarded then for any misdeeds why he is not suspended or jailed... ........................................ You will not listen like this views and action by crores of rs charging anchors like Amir khan on TRP obsessed media programs .
