Written by a mum from the heart : September Seventeenth By Shari Kelly That day was a day unlike any other. A day I was kept away from the mothers. In my own special room, A room drenched in sadness. Next to their room, away from the madness. A room for mothers where tears of joy never fell. For mothers like me, A sad story we would tell. Of our two little boys laying side by side. They fought together But together they died. Doctors and nurses surrounded my bed. He cannot survive is all that they said. Your foot kicked my chest. Your first and your last. A memory in my mind, Embedded to last. Daddy leaned over me to kiss You Tears fell from his cheeks onto mine like a tissue. he kissed me softly and said with a quiver Im so proud of you your such a Brave mother I kissed Your cheek You felt so cold I Kissed You Goodbye Then gave You to Daddy to hold. I watched a proud Daddy Kiss his first Son Goodbye It was the first time Id ever seen Daddy Cry. My heart broke in two Our lives changed forever. But i know You are smiling Up there with your Brother. Time has moved on And Its gotten easier. We talk of you now to Your Sister and Brother. But theyll never replace you or make us forget September Seventeenth The day that we met. Dedicated to Our brave little Soldiers Tyrone and Joseph Born and died on September Seventeenth 2009
