Written in 1975 by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, Here You Come Again was initially written for use as a comeback hit for Brenda Lee. After Brenda decided not to record it, the song made its way to Dolly Parton. At the time, she was in the process of trying to redirect her country music career to that of as more pop appeal and entertainer. Although, she did not want to lose her country audience, so she ask her producer to add a steel guitar to the music to avoid sounding too pop like. Dollys plan worked and the song hit # 1 on the Billboard Country 100 and # 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1977. The flip side of Here You Come Again was titled Me And Little Andy and Dolly would go on to have 2 more crossover hits in 1978 called Heartbreaker and Baby Im Burning. https://youtube/watch?v=1yyNT7afVSs
