Wrote this in another Group, but thought I would share it, I would appreciate some feed back, whether positive or negative, it matters not to me, just be respectful and used scripture to defend your points......... Did Not want to hijack the thread relating to Who is the Holy Spirit? So I decided to put a few thoughts together concerning The Godhead, but I will be attempting to Show that the Holy Spirit is NOT a person distinct from The Father and the Son, but is in actuality the LIFE of the Father and the Son, and is therefore inseparably and indivisibly CONNECTED to the Father and the Son, much the same way humanitys life is inseparably and indivisibly connected to humanity with the exception of when one dies physically. I have always tried to draw the parallel between the Divine and the human, to show that humanity is merely a physical replica or image of the Divine. So lets look at a couple of parallels that we can compare between the Divine and the human. Using the verses from Genesis 1:26-28 and 2:7 I will attempt to draw out some undeniable truths concerning the Godhead. I will post the passages from which my premise will be built and then elaborate, feel free to agree or disagree but please do so respectfully and most importantly with scripture.... Genesis 1:26-28 King James Version (KJV) 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 2:7 King James Version (KJV) 7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Before I begin I would like to let the lexicon define for us what an image is, so Here we go: Outline of Biblical Usage image images (of tumours, mice, heathen gods) image, likeness (of resemblance) mere, empty, image, semblance (fig.) blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H6754&t=KJV The first and most obvious thing that jumps out at me with relation to this parallel between the human and the Divine is the comparison between the pronouns us and them, us referring to the Divine while the them referred to the human. So naturally the question become; how many persons was the us and the them referring to? The obvious answer would be TWO. Why? Because to get a TRUE image or replica, the us have to match the them. The scriptures over and over again tells us that the them was referring to Adam and Eve, Male and Female, see verses 27 in the passage posted above. Now, In addressing the Spiritual aspect of this parallel we must look at the way Humanity or Adam and Eve was CREATED. According to Genesis 2:7, God formed man from the dust of the ground (the physical aspect of man) and Breathed into him the breath of life (the spiritual aspect of man). Now How does this compare to the Divine? It relates in that man gets his life from God, as Jesus said it is the Spirit that gives life, the physical body of Adam became animated by the breath of life that came from God, this is just another parallel as to how humanity compares to Divinity. Now if the spirit of man is NOT another person in man, it must also be that The Spirit of God is NOT another person in God but actually the Life of God. Now After Adam was created, he was alone for the first couple of hours on that sixth day that he was created, however God saw fit that he (Adam) is going to need an help meet and So God puts him to sleep and took his very own rib and made him a counterpart (his wife Eve). This is very crucial to the comparisons and parallels being made here because in the same way that Eve was taken out of Adam it was the same way Christ was Begotten from the Father, however what we must not forget is that after God took the rib from Adam and made his wife, it never said that he breathed life into Eve again to animate Eve, but that he brought her unto him, and Adam said This is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh. So how can we make a comparison here between the human and the Divine? Simply that the Physical compares with the Spiritual. God is a Spirit, therefore Christ being taken from the Fathers bosom must also have to be Spirit as well. Therefore it could be said that Christ is Spirit of the Fathers Spirit, remember that I said earlier that the Father and the Son are inseparably and Indivisibly linked through the One Spirit that they share or through the one life that they share. Therefore I concluded that the Holy Spirit is the Invisible Life and Presence of the Father and the Son. 1John 2:24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. God Bless and Shalom aleichem!
