Wtf is it going to take to make people understand this one concept...IF YOU ARE NOT OVER THIRTY-FIVE, YOU ARE GOING TO GET CARDED and if YOU DO NOT HAVE PROPER ID, YOU WILL NOT BE SERVED... VALID DRIVERS LICENSE FROM ANY STATE (by valid it means NOT EXPIRED, CRACKED, SMEARED OR OUT RIGHT BROKEN and it makes ZERO difference to A.L.E. whether or not they are damaged by natural wear and tear or if it was broken for any other reason. To them, broken is broken.) State issued ID CARD can only be taken from the STATE IN WHICH YOU ARE MAKING THE PURCHASE! This form of ID also has the same restrictions in regards to damage and dates. Both license and ID cards must have photo included. Non-US residents, the cards that allow you to reside here is NOT a valid ID. A PASSPORT, however IS acceptable as long as the photo and birth date, etc. are intact. A valid MILITARY ID is also acceptable! Everyone that does not appear to be over 35 is, BY NC STATE LAW, required to be checked with EVERY SINGLE AGE RESTRICTED PURCHASE, REGARDLESS OF THE NUMBER OF VISITS YOU MAKE TO THE STORE IN A DAY! Also regardless of the fact that the other cashier knows you If there really is a cashier that is not following these rules...that is on them. If they want to put their job in jeopardy by letting you slide they are the ones that are facing disciplinary actions. I am not THAT cashier, and these rules are NON-NEGOTIABLE, AND ALL INCLUSIVE!!! You ask, Why is she making this a big deal? Heres why... Any of us that happen to get caught not following these rules are subject to the following disciplinary action... Automatic termination A huge fine for the cashier AND another huge fine for the company. We can (and most likely will) recieve a criminal charge that remains on permanent record. Cashier is barred from working at ANY establishment that sells age resricted items for a minimum of two years. (Stores, bars, restaurants, etc.) Also, the violations are cumulative for the store as a whole rather than per each manager...so if the previous manager had a violation and the new manager has one... it will count as two for the new manager because she inherited the previous managers violation when she inherited the store managers position. So, to us, it is A HUGE DEAL!!! We arent trying to pick on you at random, nor are we trying to be complete jerks just trying to make you run to your car to get it. It is simply a matter of your personal vices are in no way worth losing our livelihoods, especially to those of us that have children!.... END RANT!!
